LIFE ISN’T MEANT TO BE BLURRY.
Am I a good candidate for LASIK?
LASIK is a great option for those patients who want crystal-clear vision in their everyday lives and are looking for an alternative to glasses or contacts. The best way to determine if YOU are a good candidate for LASIK is to schedule a consultation with our experts at Rosin Eyecare. In the meantime, you can review the specific characteristics that determine if you are a good candidate for LASIK with our free Self-Test!
LASIK is painless and can correct common vision problems including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. During a LASIK procedure, a physician will use an advanced laser to reshape the eye’s cornea. This improves the eye’s ability to refract light properly on the retina, which results in improved vision.
With LASIK, you can simply wake up and SEE the world clearly.
Before LASIK can be performed, our doctors will meet a prospective patient and discuss their overall eye health, lifestyle preferences, profession, as well as the degree of their nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. After the initial consultation, the doctor creates a personalized treatment plan specialized for their precise needs.
The LASIK procedure itself is incredibly efficient and effective. Typically performed in less than 30 minutes, patients go home the same day, and many report an improvement in their vision within hours of the procedure. The benefits that the LASIK surgeons at Rosin Eyecare in Chicago provide last a lifetime.

The surgeon numbs your eyes with anesthetic drops. The cornea is then marked with water-soluble ink to help guide the surgeon during the procedure.
A suction ring is applied to the eye to hold it steady and control eye pressure. The surgeon then creates a thin flap from the cornea.
The surgeon tests for laser alignment and walks the patient through the process.
The corneal flap is lifted, and the laser beam is directed at the exposed interior of the cornea to reshape it. Because the laser is computer controlled, it can operate quite quickly and efficiently.
After reshaping, the corneal flap is lowered and acts as natural bandage. Because the eye can heal very quickly, there is no need for stitches. Within 5 minutes the surgeon can tell that everything is healing properly. You will have 1, 3, and 6-month follow-up appointments scheduled.
