Answer: Laser vision correction is not painful. Anesthetic eye drops are used before and throughout the procedure so your eyes are numb.

Q: What kind of follow-up care is involved?

Answer: Dr. Rosin requires that you are seen the day following your procedure and again during the first week. There will also be 1 month, 3 month, and 6 month follow-up appointments at no charge. In fact there is no charge for any post-op visits within the first 6 months after your laser vision correction.

Q: What is the price and what does it include?

Q: What results can I expect?

Answer: While results may vary, we expect the vast majority of our patients to see 20/20 or better. 99% will see 20/40 or better. Using wavefront guided laser vision correction (CUSTOM LASIK), as many as 98% are expected to see 20/20 or better. During your consultation, Dr. Rosin will discuss expected results.

Q: Am I a good candidate?

Answer: There are several factors to consider in determining whether or not you are a good LASIK candidate. The only way to know is by coming in for a consultation to have your eyes measured and to discuss laser vision correction with an expert.

Q: What laser does Dr. Rosin use?

Answer: Dr. Rosin utilizes the Alcon® WaveLight® Laser System.

Q: What is CUSTOM LASIK?

Answer: Visx CustomVue individualized laser vision correction is setting a new standard for laser vision correction. Just like a fingerprint, each person’s vision is 100% unique to their eyes. A wavefront analysis is taken of the eyes, revealing imperfections that were not always detectable with previous methods of measuring your eyes. We can now address the unique imperfections of each individual’s vision and provide them with the potential to experience better vision than possible with glasses or contact lenses.

Q: Am I a good candidate for CUSTOM LASIK?

Answer: The FDA has recently changed the parameters so more patients are now candidates for CUSTOM LASIK. As always, Dr. Rosin will discuss with each patient all of their options and what procedure will be the best for them.

Q: What is INTRALASE?

Answer: INTRALASE is the first blade-free laser technology for performing the critical first step of the LASIK procedure: creating the corneal flap. INTRALASE makes LASIK safer by replacing the hand-held microkeratome blade with the computer-guided precision of a laser. While LASIK has proven to be a successful and relatively safe procedure, the majority of complications with LASIK arose from the microkeratomes.

Q: Am I good candidate for INTRALASE?

Answer: For some patients, depending on the thickness or shape of their cornea, INTRALASE would be the safest procedure. As always Dr. Rosin will discuss the best options for each individual patient. Any patient can choose to have INTRALASE if they wish.

Q: Why choose ROSIN EYECARE?

Answer: When it comes to your eyes you should go to a doctor that you trust.
