How to Pick Frames for Base-Up
How to Pick Frames for Base-Up Triangle/Heart-Shaped Faces
Understanding How Frames Measured
Of course, the height and width of the frames will play the an important part in determining how well they fit your face , but aside from those dimensions, there are a few other measurements that contribute heavily to a frame’s overall look. For instance, the distance between lenses have an influence, where a person’s pupil sit in the eye wires when the glasses are on, also have a strong influence on how those frames look and, how thick or thin the frame material appears is another important factor in whether the frames will look good on someone.
The overall shape, however, is a good place to start when determining if a pair of frames will be flattering.
What Frames Look Best on Base up Triangular or Heart-Shaped Faces?
For people that have heart shaped or base down triangular shaped faces – there are couple things we will want to accomplish as we browse for frames. We will want to de-emphasize the width of the forehead – since this is the widest dimension of this shaped face. Frame Shapes that work well include round shaped frames, square shaped frames or square shaped frames with rounded edges. These shapes help to de-emphasize the broader forehead. In terms of rim colors and thickness – we will want to find thinner frame rims or rimless frames. Stay away from thicker upper rim frames as this accentuates the wider forehead. The other important consideration is the temple attachment. The temple is the arm of the frame that runs back and over your ears holding the frame in place. Look for frames that have a temple attachment with the rims in the middle (vertically of the rim) or lower vertically in the rim. This subtle but important consideration helps to broaden and balance the lower portion of the heart shaped or base up triangular shaped face in comparison to the forehead.
Professional and clinically on target. My wife finally has received excellent care after being examined at Rosin. Highly recommend. Thank you.

I loved my visit here. I had a great doctor and I highly recommend her. She made the visit easy and smooth but was very detailed in her work. She was very open to my suggestions and gave me lots of options as far as lenses and gave me advice on how to improve my eyesight. The best visit with an Optometrist that I have ever had!
