Frame Sizing
How to Choose Your Next Pair of Frames
Even if your prescription has changed, an old pair of eyeglasses can help you find new ones that fit. When you look at the inside of your frame, around the area that lines up with your temple, there are three numbers printed directly on the frame, like 51-17-140. This represents the measurements for that frame—specifically, the lens diameter, the bridge and the temple. These can be used as a starting point when you’re choosing your next pair of frames; however, the only way to know how a frame looks is by putting it on.
The measurements found on eyeglass frames do not take into account all the measurements that are important when identifying the size that is right for your face. For women, it would be like buying a dress by the size only, not knowing the length. For men it would be like buying a suit only knowing your sleeve length.
The measurements found on a frame can be extremely misleading. If you take a look at the two pairs of glasses below, the size of the frames look very different, but according to the measurements, they are very close in size. In fact, the measurements of example A are larger than the measurements of example B. The reason is because there are dimensions not found on the frame that have a lot to do with how a frame will look on someone’s face. Your current eyeglasses look great on you but that does not mean that another pair of glasses with the same measurements will do the same.
You do not want to make the mistake of ordering a pair of eyeglasses that are too large or small for your face; the only way to prevent this from happening is to come into Rosin Eyecare, talk to an eye care specialist and try some new frames on!

I loved my visit here. I had a great doctor and I highly recommend her. She made the visit easy and smooth but was very detailed in her work. She was very open to my suggestions and gave me lots of options as far as lenses and gave me advice on how to improve my eyesight. The best visit with an Optometrist that I have ever had!
