We offer several procedures to help correct vision disorders. These procedures, performed by our eye surgeon, Jonathan Rosin, M.D., have proven to be a great alternative to glasses and contact lenses for millions of people around the world. Currently, we offer two laser procedures (LASIK and PRK) to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.
Laser Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) is the most popular procedure that we perform. LASIK is a painless two-step procedure that combines the use of the Excimer laser with the creation of a microscopic displacement of corneal tissue to achieve improved vision. The LASIK procedure is effective for all ranges of nearsightedness as well as farsightedness and astigmatism.
Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK) is a procedure for the surgical correction for mild to moderate degrees of nearsightedness as well as farsightedness and astigmatism. An excimer laser is used to treat your eyes during PRK.
In addition to Laser vision correction, we offer Intrastromal Corneal Ring Segments (INTACS™). These are plastic ring segments, which are placed inside the cornea, which gently change the cornea's shape in order to correct your vision. INTACS™ are practically invisible and cannot be felt. We offer this procedure for the correction of mild nearsightedness and astigmatism.
